We're Back!

Hey everyone! So we are finally back on the internet! Hoorah! After 8 months I believe? Sorry it has been sooo long. Dad, Mom, and I have been super busy all of the time! Then when we do have time... we forget! But we are finally back! At least for now. You see, I am going to start pressuring Mom into posting because I am leaving and can't do it anymore! So if there is another long gap, just remember that I am pressuring Mom.
But a lot has happened! First off, Dad is no longer the interim president at CEU. USU and CEU now have an affiliation and they chose a chancellor to fill the president role. So Dad is now officially done with that! He will be teaching at the college again in a while. But for now, he enjoys his free time taking pictures and fishing!
Mom has been chilling out at Wellington Elementary School. She takes care of all of the reading and such. She was also pretty busy during the school year but is now hanging out and visits the grandkids as often as she can!
Then there is me! I just graduated with my Associate's Degree from CEU and am now heading up to BYU! I move out in a month to start there.
As a family we have been doing some fun stuff and what not. We went to the Stadium of Fire to see Carrie Underwood, Beaver for the 24th of July, St. George, Provo, Lehi, Orem, anywhere you name and we have been there! At least in Utah... :D There was also grandma's camp which the grandkids loved and so did the rest of us! We love to see the kids and spend time with them! Also, Mom and Dad went on a cruise to Alaska! They absolutely loved it there and wish that I would be like the waiters there and serve them food ten times a day. But that sure won't happen!
So that is what has happened!! Great isn't it? But I will do my best to start getting Mom to post!

The Beginning of My Last Year as a Teen

So I finally turned 19!! Woot! I had an amazing birthday - thanks given to everyone!! I loved it! The only downside to my birthday was that I pretty much had my mid-life crisis at 19. It was just great. Other than that, I had an amazing time!! :D It was pretty sad though for most of the day. My school schedule is so hectic. This is how my day went: School from 8am - 4pm and then meetings from 4pm - 7:30pm. It was super intense, but once I got home, it was even better!! I hung out with Mom and Dad for a bit, and then some of my friends came over including, first Rebecca, then Blake and RaeLynn and Jacob!! It was great!! Here are some pictures of when my friends all came. Oh and look at the awesome cake that they gave me! My friend RaeLynn and her sister, I believe, made the cake. But it is amazing!!

Crazy busy life!

Woa!! Crazy busy life!! Life at the King household has been like no other, trust me. School started, work started (did it ever really end?) and there has been no time for anything! Here is what is going on:
Dad is the Intern President at the CEU, and is doing awesome, although he is super busy!! He just has his birthday and received some of the best gifts ever, if I do say so myself. He got the new Brian Regan comedy act on DVD, plus an awesome shirt that says "Take Luck!", and a bumper sticker that says it as well! It was awesome! I was pretty jealous.
Mom is also doing very well. She is a reading specialist over at Wellington Elementary School. She is also busy with this job and also with being the Relief Society President! She is always doing something for that (also known as helping everyone else! :D). But she definitely enjoys it!
Then there is me! I am crazy busy for sure! I just started my freshman year of CEU! I love it! It is probably the best year of school that I have ever had. One thing is, is that I don't have time for anything! I am NEVER home! Literally, ask Mom or Dad. They will tell you! I am always in class, doing something for student government, doing homework, and when I do have free time, I am usually with my friends! It is pretty funny because Mom was always saying last year that I needed to get out more, and now when I do, she complains that she never sees me anymore. :D It is hilarious (or so I think!)!!!
But other than that.. there isn't much. I know Mom is planning on writing a post (finally!)(just kidding Mom!) about the summer activities that I never did say anything about. So you will hear more later! Sorry it has been waaayyyyy long since we last posted anything!

King Family LIfe As Of Now

The last little while of our King Family life has been pretty busy. Dad, Mom, the Lotts, the Williams, and myself went to California about a week ago. It was a ton of fun! We went to Disneyland, California Adventure, the beach, a National Tide pool park(don't remember what it is called), and a Dodger baseball game. We had a ton of fun! We also have proof that we all went to! Most of us got fried at the beach so if you notice that we all look like tomatoes.. that is why! (Although I am probably the only one who still  shows signs of a real burn. Everyone else's turns in a tan within a few days, but mine is still bright red and it is a week and a half later. Sigh..) But other than that, we had a blast!
Besides California, we really haven't done much. Dad has been at work all week (Sigh..), Mom has been working on repainting and just plain out redoing our house (so far it looks really really amazing!), and I just started school this past Monday (yay...!!). So we have all been pretty busy.
Mikelle and her cute kids also just flew out here too! She is finally moving back out here (WOO!!) We are all so excited to have her within a few hour drive, instead of a few day drive. It is really fun to have them here. Mikelle and the kids are temporarily staying with us until they get there stuff and can move into their new house. Chris, unfortunately, has to drive the car out here and is in the process of doing that. Poor guy... Speaking of which.. having them here at our house also gives me the chance to cream them in Settler of Catan-Cities and Knights!!! BRING IT!!

Celebrity Moment!!

So I just got back from my Senior Trip with the rest of the seniors in my stake. It was a blast! We went to the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house, we did baptisms for the dead at the Monticello Temple, saw the new movie "Up" (that was an amazing movie! I recommend it!), hiked up an Indian Ruin named the Cidadel, toured Temple Square a little bit, and went on a river run in Moab. It was so much fun and it was really really cool! What was also amazing was the fact that I had a celebrity moment! Our first day, we went to Tucanos for lunch (LOVE it there!) and guess who we saw there? Andrei Kirilenko from the Utah Jazz BB team!! It was amazing! He just came and ate lunch there the exact time we did! It was great. We were all star-struck for the rest of the day! We even got him to take pictures with all of us!

Graduation!

Graduation! It finally happened! Sorry for getting to this a little bit later than planned. But anyways it rocked! I loved every minute of it! Although the actual ceremony was a little bit long, I still thought it was very good. I liked it more than Mom and Dad that is, but I also had a nicer chair to sit on :D! But everything was pretty basic. We went to the ceremony, we went outside and took hundreds of pictures, we went and ate lunch at Grogg's (yum!), and then I went to Grad Spec. So it was basic but it was such a major blast! I felt really quite proud of myself. I graduated 11th in my class of about 240 kids! I was, however, disappointed because I was one chair off of the first row. I would have been but they put student body officers in front of everyone else, including valedvictorian, and that pushed me back about 6 chairs. But oh well! I was still happy I was far up there!

Speaking of Grad Spec....I WON! Well sort of. But I did break the King Family Curse and won something at Grad Spec. I actually was called during the first part of Grad Spec to win something but I took a risk and told them that I wanted to wait for the Senior Prize drawing. Apparently if you win something else, you cannot win the Senior Prize, which is a desk, computer, printer, camera, and some other stuff. So I waited for the Senior Prize. For that, they call 20 seniors and eliminate them one by one to the last person, who gets the prize. Well my name was called for the 20 seniors! But I didn't win. I was the first person called to say that I didn't win it. Sigh.. But that is ok! For being one of the 20 I won a few things. I won a box of sprite, snake-eye dice things, an old (smelling really bad) lotion bar, a paperweight, and $10! I felt pretty great about it!!

Anyways...it feels amazing to finally be graduated! The only real thing that I will miss from High School is my friends. I will miss them like no other! A lot of them are leaving for other colleges and I am still depressed about it, but I do have friends staying here!! Thank goodness! Other than that though, I am just plain out happy that I am in college (despite the fact that it makes me feel extremely old!). I have been ready for college since my sophomore year! It finally came! YAY!

Here is a video of graduation. It is pretty long and most of it is just me with my friends, but if you have 7 minutes of your crazy schedules, check it out! It is great!! Or so I think!! PS- The first song in the video was our graduation theme if you wanted to know. The other song was just one put there because I didn't have another song and I really like that one! And I am really really sorry if you cannot read the subtitles on some of them. They looked bigger when I made the movie!

Updates!! Woo!

My life the past few days have been so stinking hectic!! I have not had a free moment for the past week. There has been constantly something going on! So I will just let you all know what has been going on! And sorry this is soooooooo long!

First off..PROM! Prom was this last Saturday and I had a blast! I went with Brandon Gagnon, the awesome guy next to me! The funny thing is that he only asked me 2 days before Prom. It was really funny...and sudden! But even though it was last minute, I was super excited that he asked me. I had so much fun that night! What we did was we went and had dinner at Boyd Marsing's house (he is the guy in the lower picture-we were in his group), then we played some guitar hero, and then after that, Brandon and I went to his house. His mom had wanted us to go over there for pictures and such (we did that alone because everyone else in our group had to promenade, and we didn't! yay!). Anyways, we went to the dance after that and danced the night away, and then went back to Boyd's house after to have dessert and watch a movie. We watched "The Day the Earth Stood Still." Note to others~it is the weirdest movie ever! It was the newer version and I had no clue what the heck was going on. But that is it! Prom was incredible and I was so excited I got to go with Brandon! Here are some pictures!!

Brandon and I!
My (pretend) attempt to pin the boutonnier on him. That was just a pose! Mom really pinned it on him!My corsage!! It was really pretty, and good considering we went in there together to get the flowers and had no idea what we were doing!!

Brandon and I, and Boyd, who was in our group as well!
Next thing! Well all day Monday and Tuesday I have been doing CEUSA training. That has been really fun as well. We did a ton of fun activities to get to know each other. We also had many workshops where poeple came and told us how to be leaders and how to set a good example. They were fun. It did get boring a few times just because I was dead tired, but all the same, it was really good. Funny story!! So we went bowling Monday night and I was in a group with three other guys there (PS~I creamed every single one of them with my new high score of 144!!I got a turkey!!). But I went up to bowl one time and I threw the ball down the lane when all of a sudden the swiper thing, that swipes all of the pins away, just fell down! My ball crashed into it and knocked all of the pins down! (it really did give me a strike!) But I was so scared. The swiper just came out of no where! I turned around right when it happened and everyone else had this look between shock and laughter on their faces!! Luckily, I didn't get into any trouble, but I was terrified! The worker there didn't seem too upset at me so......I guess I am ok!
Finally! So today I had to take the Calculus AP test! It was insane! It was the longest, most annoying test of my life. I went down there at 7:30am and got home at about 12:20pm. Worst test ever (not include the AP Biology one I took last year!)!!! But I totally think I failed it. I did feel good about some of the multiple choice questions, but on the free response question...I totally bombed those. On those ones, you can't just guess and get away with it. You have to show all of your work and everything. It stunk. Big time. I am extremely worried that if I don't pass it, my math teacher, Mr. Bianco, will hunt me down with me being the Math Sterling Scholar and everything. And he would too! He has thrown desks and chairs and garbage cans at students! I think he would hunt me down! (seriously!! but even though he terrifies me, he is like my favorite teacher! he is hilarious and a really good teacher!) So ya, I am scared of that. But I am super happy that it is done! That is what we have been preparing for all year and it is finally done!! YAY!! I can breate once again!
Well that is pretty much it from my life! I am still working on getting Mom to post on here, but so far, we have just been too busy to really get anything done. Right now I am posting and Mom is still at work! It is just way toooo crazy here at the King household! We can't wait for summer!!

CEUSA, Here I Come!!

I don't know how many of you knew this, but I applied for CEUSA, which is the student government for CEU, and guess what? I made it! I am officially one of the Event Directors for the college now! I am so excited! The Event Director is pretty much is charge of planning, organizing, and carrying out all of the student activities at the college. Yay!! There are also three other directors, so that does lighten up the load a bit, but still, YAY!!! I am so excited for college! It is going to be super amazing!!

Job Hunting, Oh How I Hate You So..

Being jobless...not as great as it seems. I enjoyed the first few weeks of it, but now I am just plain out bored. I spend my life lying around and sitting on the couch. Sigh.. So I have started job hunting and let me tell you, it is so not fun. I have barely started and I am so sick of it. The worst part of is that there are not many jobs in Price that do not include handling food, and I have no desire to work with food..at all. I will not become some miserable cashier working the drive-through (no offense to those who do!).

I don't think that I could ever work at fast food! I would have some sort of freakout! I would end up like this lady here... freaking out!! Or, I would end up like this guy here..bored to tears..

So in conclusion...I really really REALLY hate job hunting.

PS~ Here are some random comics about food places that I found. Enjoy them. They are funny!!!!!

Train Station Dance

Mom showed this video to me yesterday, and I just think it is dang hilarious! She got it in an email from a friend, anyways, there are some other videos like this on you tube. One of them is where a group of people just freeze in a train station for five minutes! That is funny. But if you have already seen it, watch it anyway because it will make you smile even more! It made me laugh extremely hard!!

Senior-itis

Finally! School is almost over! At least high school anyways. But either way, I am super excited that I just started the fourth and final quarter of school. I only have about a month and a half before school gets out. And I cannot wait! Woo! Also, today I went and had my senior pictures taken. If there is anything that makes you feel really old, it is when you take your senior pictures, especially when you put on the cap and gown. We took a few of those, and boy did I feel super old. I just couldn't believe that I really am graduating in less than two months. Awkward... Even though I am old, I am sooo excited to get done with it! WOOOO!! And for your benefit/interest, I have added a countdown to the day that I will officially become a woman!! :D
~PS~ I will post my senior pictures when I get those back, but that won't be for a bit...sigh.

Apparently I can't sit with Widows...

Yesterday, I went to the Spring Glen church ward because a few of the other Seminary Council members were speaking and I wanted to hear them. Well Rebecca Goodrich and I arrived a little early (like an hour! we were told the wrong time!), and so we decided to just sit down and wait for our teacher to come. We parked ourselves on the very last comfy bench in the chapel. A few minutes later, this older lady walks in and heads right toward us. She stopped right in front of us and just stared at us. Finally she tooked at me and said, "You are in my spot." At first I thought she was just joking around, but she looked totally serious. So, trying to be polite, I simply said, "Oh I am sorry, Would you like us to move?" I thought she was going to to just say that it was alright and that she would sit somewhere else. Well instead she said, "Ya, this is the widow's bench. This is where we all sit." I just sat there shocked. I couldn't believe it! Rebecca and I just started laughing (although we toned it down because the woman was still standing there waiting). The woman then said that we could sit down at the other end of the bench, just not where we were. So we moved. As soon as we moved over, the lady immediately sat down. I just kept laughing to myself, trying not to burst out. To the side of me, Dayton Martindale (the other semiary council member speaking) and his mother were laughing so hard. They were turning their heads away to make sure that the woman did not see them laughing. I was really funny. One thing I have learned is that apparently, I can't sit with widows...

Sterling Scholar

As many of you know, I was selected as the Math Sterling Scholar for Carbon High. Well, the competition was today and I am so stinkin' glad it is over! I have been waiting for this day for 6 months! WOO! In the competition, I thought I did pretty good. I got one of the Runner-Up positions. I am perfectly happy with that! At first, I did think that I had a better shot of winning the dang thing, because I thought that I did really good on the interview and my book was really nice, I thought. But as I was looking at the other competitor's books, I knew my chance was shot. One of the other competitors, Brett, had scored a 35 on the ACT test, and a 36 on the Mathematic section. Well shoot! If any of you know the ACT grading scale, a 36 is a perfect score! There was absolutely no way that I could beat him. I just couldn't top it. But I am happy for him; I met him and he is an incredibly nice guy. So I thought I did pretty good under the circumstances. :D

We could never look at the cameras at the same time! None of us were ever smiling together! :D

Myself with my friends Rebecca and Katie, both who also were Runner-Ups for their categories, English and Music.

Do I Really Care About My Teeth?

So today during my Seminary class, we were grading things and playing some Christmas games. During that time, we also received some Starburst candy. Well I didn't want them then so I put them in my pocket for later. Later that day, I made a "fun" trip to the dentist's office. A little while ago, I discovered that one of the fillings that I had fixed like 4 months ago had chipped off. So I went back into the dentist's office today to get that taken care of. Well as I was sitting in the uncomfortable chair, some of the Starbursts from my pocket fell out. And I bet you can imagine what the dentist was thinking. Well let's just say that everyone there got a little chuckle out of it. So pretty much, they probably think that I don't care about my teeth and all that jazz; all I do is eat candy and sweets. It is a no wonder that I have bad teeth. Well honestly I do care! I just forgot to destroy the evidence that would say otherwise. :D Apparently everyone told Mom about it as well when she went in later for her checkup. Ya...I am a laughing-stock at the dentist's office now. Yay.....

Procrastination

Hey everyone! So sorry for neither mom nor I posting anything for a while. Life here in Price has been pretty hectic lately. Mom and Dad have both been crazy busy with work, and I have also been pretty busy with school and work.
As many of you know (how could you not know with Mom telling everybody she meets? that's right, even strangers practically), I was selected as the Math Sterling Scholar for this year. Well let me tell ya, it is not all that it is cracked up to be. The outcome is nice, all that you learn and everything, but the work... ugh. We have deadlines where a number of pages have to be done. Well....this coming Thursday I have 10 pages due, and let's face it, I have none done. Awesome isn't it? Well I am close on several of them, but none done. I have one word that describes my life altogether: Procrastination. Yup that's me. For my science fair project in 9th grade, I waited until like the week before to do my observations, and the night before to do my report and everything else. :D Also, I remembered last night at about 10:00 that I had a lesson that I had to teach in Young Women's today. Ya that was a shocker. I about had a heart attack right in the middle of family prayer, and I was saying it! You know, even though I procrastinate and get frustrated everytime I do it, I still do it. I haven't figured that out yet. People tell me to change my ways (mainly Mom and Dad), but I usually don't listen (don't tell Mom!).

"Brad's Not Afraid of the Dirty Work"

Our dear and my favorite uncle, (don't tell anyone else that!) Brad King, is running for the Utah State Senate, and because he is doing this, he is gathering his forces, namely his family in Price, and having them be in parades for him. I have been in two of them so far, and I love it! Uncle Brad, in both parades so far, has been placed right behind the horses. So his lucky job gets to be the pooper scooper! However, he has made a clever slogan to go along with it. "Brad Is Not Afraid of the Dirty Work"!
In both of these parades I had the "privelage" of handing out candy. It is actually really kind of scary. Here you are, being nice and throwing out candy, and here these little short kids run up to you screaming "GIVE ME CANDY!! GIVE ME CANDY!! CANDY!!!". It has made me pretty much terrified of little kids; at least ones during a parade. But I would rather hand out candy and deal with the little people than pass out flags to all of the old people. That was the other job option and I had no desire to talk to old people and answer all of their questions about Brad King. They are far worse than the screaming kids. Lucky for Mom, that was her awesome job, and she did incredible at it, although a few times, she did fall behind. But who could blame her when she has 20 questions coming from everyone?

DISCO

Well here are pictures from the Homecoming dance last night. Many of you know I went already, because Mom tells everybody everything about my life. So here they are. My date was Dayton Martindale and I had a blast with him! The theme for the dance was throughout the ages, as this year is Carbon's 50th year. So anybody could go and dress up in any of the last 5 decades. We chose to dress up in DISCO style. It was amazing. Plus, if we dressed up in full costume, we got a $1 discount. Woo! But anyways, here are our pictures from last night.

In this picture, our faces look kind of odd, and that is because we were trying so hard not to bust up laughing. We were not succeeding very well.

PS- The white thing around my neck is my ID badge that we have to wear at school now. It is totally lame. They made us even bring it to the dance, otherwise we would not be able to get into the dance. LAME!

"My Little Buttercup"

Here it is! My homecoming video talent performance! I must say though, it is not near as good as the one we did at the actual assembly, but it is still good and hilarious. Unfortunately, we had very limited space so we are crunched together, and you cannot hear our tap shoes. Sigh.. but overall, you still get the same effect. For homecoming queen, by the way, I did not win anything, but I also did not really care, but I still felt especially honored that my peers see me that high up there. So thanks to them! Love you all!

(I apologize for the sound effects. My camera does not work the best and it has problems recording things. I did not want to use the one on the video camera, because that would require extra time and effort to convert it to a digital setting thing. At least, that is what Dad says... ;D)

Homecoming

As many of you know, I was nominated for Homecoming Queen. Well here are the pictures of the assembly where I had to "gracefully" walk across stage (I wasn't so successful in that part), answer a question, and perform a talent. My talent was tap dancing to the song 'My Little Buttercup' from the Three Amigos. It wasn't really tap dancing though, mostly just making a bunch of noise with the shoes. Unfortunately, we had some technical difficulties witht the video camera, so I don't have the actual dance...yet. The camera recorded everything else but the dance, but my friends and I are going to re-dance the dance. As soon as that is done, I will post it here, but until then please enjoy the few pictures we have of it.
